Noah and I had so much fun baking cupcakes this morning! He wasn't quite sure at first, but he LOVED it! Especially licking the spoon at the end!
Oh and side note----two days in a row. I'm on a roll!

Life lessons from a two year old
First of all, go ahead and have your heart attack...I'm blogging.
Noah and I were sitting around cuddling this morning over breakfast and I asked him what he wanted to do today. He said "Go to zoo." My first reaction was to say No, but then I thought "why not?" We have a membership, its only going to be in the low 90s today, we have no other plans...Let's Go!
So we got dressed, packed up and headed to the zoo. Noah was in such a good mood and was being so good about getting in and out of his stroller. We were having a great time looking at everything. And then it started to go downhill!
First, I get out the bowl of grapes I packed for him, open it up and set it on his tray in the stroller. He's eating away as happy as can be until we get to the next exhibit. He wanted out, so I moved the bowl of grapes to the top of the stroller and got him out with no problem. As we start walking to the next exhibit, the entire bowl of grapes falls to the ground. Grapes everywhere. Noah was so helpful at picking every last grape up and helping me throw them away. He wasn't upset that he only got to eat 1-2 grapes. I got out some Pirate's Booty and he was happy as could be again.
We are making our way through the Texas part of the zoo and it starts to sprinkle. I wasn't aware that rain was in the forecast, so I was not prepared, but it was just sprinkling so we were barely getting wet. No problem. I decided we could go into one of the restaurants and eat. Surely the sprinkles would stop by the time we were done.
I ordered Noah a milk, but the zoo has a no lid/straw policy so he had to drink it out of a cup. We haven't worked on cups so that was interesting. We finished eating and Noah was getting a drink. I went to set the cup on the table and missed the edge of it. Milk goes splashing all over his stroller, me and the ground. We cleaned it up and went on our way. Noah now has to walk b/c his stroller seat is wet from the milk.
We get outside and it is POURING. Yay. Just what we needed. We were all the way on the opposite side of the zoo from the exit. We saw some friends from church and while I was talking to them, Noah was dancing in the rain! He loved it!
We decided to ride the train to the other side so that we could get there faster. The zoo workers loaded our stroller up and we chose our seat. We were under cover so it kept us dry...or so we thought. As the train starts moving, the rain starts coming in sideways and soaking our legs and feet.
At this point, I had to laugh. Here we are both drenched, partially milk-stained, but having a blast! Since Noah didn't seem to be bothered by any of this, we went to the monkey exhibit in the rain. It's his favorite and he wasn't going to let a little rain stop him!
On the way back to the car, Noah kept saying "Mommy, we're all yucky! I had fun!"
So, life lessoned learned from a two year old today: Never let a little rain or spilled milk put a damper on your day!

Arizona--Day Two
On Sunday, we decided to all head out to the Phoenix Zoo. It was pretty interesting, but it made me appreciate the Fort Worth Zoo. We have it pretty good here!

First, we saw the giraffes. It was so cool. You could get so close to them. Noah and Lance went up to the lookout to get a closer look. 
Then we saw the tigers and lions. This picture has been posted after listening to Lance beg me. I would rather not post a peeing tiger, but I try to keep my husband happy!

Noah's first road trip
I know it has been a while since I've updated so I'm going to try to do better with our Spring Break pictures. I've asked Shipley to stay on top of me about posting these, so maybe I'll actually get it done this time :)
Last Friday night, we set out on Noah's very first road trip. We left around 6:00 pm for Arizona thinking that Noah would sleep all night. Ha ha, we couldn't have been more wrong! He did really well for the first 6 hours or so, but then he had all he could take of the car. Unfortunately, there were still 12 more hours to go! We finally made it to Laura's house (Lance's sister) around 11:00 Saturday morning.

There's the jist of day one in Arizona. I'll add more as I have time. Right now I'm exhausted and would like to nap. The ride home today was 1000 times worse than the ride there. I'm not sure any of us slept last night!

Starting out on our trip:
Watching endless episodes of Blue's Clues. I think I can quote all 8 episodes on this DVD now. It is the only one he wanted to watch!

Laura did not tell her kids that Lance, Noah and I were coming. They thought that it was just going to be MawMaw and PawPaw. When they came out to "help unload the car," they were shocked to see us sitting in the car. Elise grabbed Noah and hugged him tight!

Laura took Noah out to see their horse Diamond. He was fascinated, but this was about as close as he would get that day.
Then, Noah discovered the quads in the garage. By the end of the week, these were referred to as "my cars."
