Noah has something to say...

What the heck, Mom? Why haven't you updated the blog?

I've caught some grief lately about not updating (Shipley!), but life has been so busy lately. The beginning of the year is kicking my butt! I promise I'll work on posting more!

You're just jealous...

I had a brush with fame this weekend at the Frog Street Press Conference. This was Saturday morning and it totally made my day. Who can say they've sung with Bob from Sesame Street?

Please keep in mind that I was trying to sing softly, but apparently that's impossible. Also keep in mind that I have not sung the song in 25 years and the words were a little rusty :)

For a few moments I was taken back to my 4 year old days and was completely star-struck. Good times.

Just like Mommy

I'm sure these will end up in a wedding slideshow 30 years from now. (And, yes, I said 30. )

Does this make me a bad parent? :)

Top Ten Reasons I Love Noah

I've been feeling extra sentimental lately. Just this morning, Noah toddled past me in the hall and I got all overwhelmed with how much I love him. My mother-in-law summed it all up last night when she said, "Can you remember what life was like before him?"

I love him and here a few reasons why:

1. I love when I pick him up out of bed in the morning or after a nap, he lays his head on my shoulder and pats me on the back.

2. I love to watch him pull all of his books off the bookshelf to find the book he wants to read. I love it when he sits down and "reads" the book to himself. His expressions are priceless.

3. Even though it drives me crazy sometimes, I love it when he gets that sneaky look on his face and does something he knows he's not supposed to do (climb on the fireplace, throw food on the floor, etc.)

4. I love that when the front door opens, the dryer buzzes or anything makes a loud noise. He comes running to my side and says, "OH!" He knows that I will protect him from anything!

5. I love when he takes off my shoes and tries to put them on his feet.

6. I love it when he first wakes up and I can hear him talking and playing in his crib. He has full conversations with himself!

7. I love when he gets to giggling and can't stop. The pure joy on his face is priceless.

8. I love that when he sees his Daddy lying on the floor, it is an open invitation to jump on top of him. Lance doesn't need to watch WWE anymore when he has it going on right in his own living room!

9. I love his obsession with belly buttons. We often see him walking around, shirt up, inspecting his own. It is extra hilarious when he finds ours and won't leave them alone.

And finally:
10. I love that he is the perfect mix of Lance and I. He has my eyes and Lance's mouth. He has my dimples and Lance's hair. He has my stubborness and Lance's pickiness.

I never knew I could love another person like this! God is so amazing!

ACU Night

We went Saturday night to ACU night at the ballpark. There were hundreds of ACU people there and not a single one that I knew or graduated with (at least that I saw.) Kinda disappointing, but I love the Rangers, so we still had fun.
We intended on getting a picture of Noah and Willie the Wildcat, but Noah had other plans. He freaked out a little and had to be held. We don't have very many family shots, so it worked out well! After good ole hamburgers and hot dogs in the museum, we headed upstairs to the fun part to let Noah explore. There weren't many kids up there so he got to run around and play. We then had to snap a few pics to embarass him later in life.

At the game, Noah was very excited for the dot race. I always let him choose his own color and his dot of choice was blue. I even had him saying "blue!" Unfortunately, green took the lead at the last minute and blue came in second.
And this picture is on here just to say that I love kisses!

4th of July

I've gotten really bad at putting off updating the blog. I will aim to be better at that in the future.

Last Friday, we went with my parents out to Frisco to the Roughriders game for the 4th of July. Noah loves big crowds so he was in heaven. I'm not sure he was aware of a game going on, but he made sure everyone in our section knew that he was the one to watch. He has this thing now where he picks out several people around him and waves to them randomly. It is hilarious. I'm sure people that don't know him and love his cuteness are annoyed by it at times, but oh well!

Here are some pics from our fun night:

Well, for his second 4th of July he did pretty well. He tuckered out in MawMaw's lap about a minute before the fireworks began. We tranferred him over to my lap and he slept through the whole thing! He jumped a couple of times at the really loud ones, but never woke up. Oh well, there's always next year!
